Send a message of thanks to elected officials for supporting an end to homelessness
The incredible advocacy coming from every corner of the state and from many diverse voices is tangibly making a difference. Take for example the document recording fee bills – 2048 & 5952. On Wednesday (February 22nd), 2048 cleared the Financial Institutions Housing and Insurance Committee unanimously. When its twin bill, 5952, was voted on just weeks prior, it was minus two votes. Since then, advocates have worked hard to gain the full support of the Committee and we won. Every single member voted yes – Democrats and Republicans – and now it is time to thank them. The unanimous support gives the bill a helpful boost for its next hurdle in Ways and Means. Thank you for your tremendous advocacy – and keep it coming. We are closer than we have ever been in passing this important bill. With it, every county in the state will have resources to prevent a dramatic rise in homelessness.

Thank you Senators
Thank you to the Senate Financial Institutions committee for voting to support funding for homelessness programs. The small fee assessed on real estate related documents is a critical funding source for homelessness services — thank you committee members for unanimously recognizing its importance to our state.
Homelessness
Thank you so much for your support of Senate bill 2048 to fund housing assistance for the homeless! Just a week ago I got a crisis call from a woman fleeing domestic violence. She was begging money from churches and other charities day to day to keep herself and her belongings in a motel room while on the waiting list for housing. She was a well educated professional woman, but the waiting lists are so long that she had exhausted her savings. You could hear the fear and grief in her voice. You would be surprised how many people are without housing because of health care expenses, or because of domestic violence -- and how many stay in unsafe relationships out of fear of homelessness! Thank you for what you have done and for any help you can give to make the waiting lists shorter for those in need of affordable shelter!
Thanks!
Thank you for your support of the document recording fee bills – 2048 & 5952.

Thank you for your support of SB 2048 - we are so grateful for your partnership in the mission of preventing and ending family homelessness. These dollars are essential for services that literally save lives, and set children in these families on a new path. As we say - it's hard to have a bedtime story without a bed. Your vote gives the gift of stability - thank you!

Keeping housing affordable
Please keep anything to do with housing, affordable housing for those of us who can't afford much else; on your mind and in the government. People need this kind of housing, especially after all the credit check stuff.
Bill #5952
thanks so much to all for voting yes to keep low cost housing available to the disadvantaged/disenfranchised public.
Senate Bill 2048 to support funding for homeless programs
Thank you so much for your support for this critical need. Your priorities are well placed in supporting this!
Thank you for helping our homeless by supporting 2048 and 5952
Thanks to all our elected officials from both sides of the aisle for coming together and voting yes to funding programs and services that help prevent homelessness. With state revenue so scarce, I'm glad we can agree that this fee is a win for all, as it keeps nonprofit and social service jobs alive and aims to keep people housed and stabilized. Thanks again for doing your part to end homelessness in Washington State.
SB 2048
Thank you for moving SB 2048 along. We see such incredible gaps in our community where people are literally struggling to survive. This helps ensure some vital services continue to exist and save lives.
Gratitude
I wish to extend my Gratitude to all our Elected Officials who have understood the desperate need for Affordable Safe Housing. As a disabled senior woman, I am so grateful for the affordable apartment I have, that I had to wait years for. For the first time in decades, I know where I will be living next year. I know I can eat, and afford my medicine. I have a community and can hold my head up even tho I can't earn enough anymore for a home of my own. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Now, to find a job!

I live in the city of Baltimore. It is nothing more esnhdarteiing to see previous soldiers homeless. All the aid that is provided for others, how can this country toss out the people who have fought for it, have laid their lives down, possibly, to safeguard our freedoms, and to bring our freedoms and prosperity to other peoples of the world. Something doesn't add up. Are we really as altruistic as that? Or are there other reasons why we are fighting these wars that make leaders so guilty that they have to ignore the needs of the most loyal people to our American missions and dreams . Where is our great value for human beings for them?
